Consultation has concluded
The draft Walking and Cycling Strategy has been developed to support active and healthy lifestyles by encouraging more people to walk and cycle more often. It is based on community feedback, identifying opportunities to improve walking and cycling, research and best practice, and an understanding of our region's needs.
The strategy outlines five key priorities that will guide our actions over the next decade. These are:
1. Encouraging walking and cycling;
2. Planning walking and cycling communities;
3. Developing safe and connected networks;
4. Developing comfortable and accessible networks; and

Rockhampton Regional Council aims to provide high quality walking and cycling infrastructure and services that match the needs of our diverse community both now and into the future.
As part of this we invite you to undertake a short survey to share your views on current walking and cycling infrastructure and what more needs to be done.
Feedback gained from this survey will be used to guide Rockhampton Regional Council in future planning and developing strategies for the provision of future walking and cycling infrastructure.
