Proposed Dog Off-Leash Area at Rigarlsford Park

Rockhampton Regional Council is inviting community feedback on a proposal to establish a new dog off-leash area (DOLA) at Rigarlsford Park in Koongal.

This initiative is part of Council’s broader commitment to enhancing local recreational spaces and meeting the needs of our growing dog-owning community. With Duthie Park and other areas already popular destinations for off-leash activities, we’re exploring opportunities to expand our network to better support local users.

Rigarlsford Park has been identified as a location due to its open space, existing amenities, and accessibility. The proposed DOLA would be unfenced, offering a natural setting for dogs to exercise and socialise freely. We want to ensure this space is safe, inclusive, and enjoyable for all park users.

Your input is essential. Whether you're a local resident, a regular visitor, or part of a community group, we want to hear your thoughts. This consultation will help Council make an informed, community-driven decision and respond to a recent petition presented by residents.
