Name the new playground on Springfield Drive, Norman Gardens

Help Name Norman Gardens’ New Park!

Rockhampton Regional Council is excited to announce the development of a brand-new park in Norman Gardens, located on Springfield Drive. This will feature a ninja-themed playground, shaded seating, picnic areas, and fresh landscaping— a welcoming destination for families and children of all ages to enjoy. The park is on track for completion by July 2025.

While works progress towards a July completion date, Council is inviting the community to help name the park.

All submissions must align with Council’s Naming of Parks, Reserves and Sport Facilities Policy, which prioritises names that reflect:

  • Local geography or natural features
  • Aboriginal heritage (with appropriate consultation)
  • Local history or cultural significance
  • Notable individuals, organisations, or sporting achievements

Names should be respectful, unique, and appropriate to the character of the area. Personal names are generally only considered posthumously unless there is strong community support.

Submissions are open until Wednesday, 25 June 2025, for the community to submit suggestions before Council makes a final decision.

Don’t miss your chance to be part of local history—submit your idea today!
