Council have announced the next steps for the region to become home to a high level, multi-purpose motorsports precinct.

A conditional contract has been entered into for a preferred site at 53199 Burnett Highway, Bouldercombe.

Master planning is currently underway to determine the suitability of the preferred site for the motorsport precinct. Community engagement will take place as part of this project to ensure it meets community values and provides the greatest environmental, economic and social benefit to the region. Early consultation with stakeholders is required to understand requirements, issues and guiding principles in the development of a master plan. Residents and motor sporting groups will have multiple opportunities to be involved throughout the development process.

The new precinct will have multiple uses such as:

  • Speedway
  • Motorkhana
  • Rally
  • Drifting
  • Motocross
  • Drag racing
  • 4WD tracks
  • Touring cars
  • Driving school facilities
