The Rockhampton Mountain Bike Club, with in-principle support from Rockhampton Regional Council, has developed the First Turkey Master Plan. This plan aims to enhance facilities for club members and expand recreational opportunities for mountain biking in Rockhampton in the future.
The Master Plan aligns with Council’s strategic objectives, however some aspects could impact public open spaces and nearby residents.
We want to hear from residents, community members, and user groups to understand your views on the proposed plan.
Council supports the master plan with conditions including:
Ensure any new infrastructure is truly needed and has a clear purpose.
Ensure engagement with residents and stakeholders occurs throughout the planning or development of infrastructure on public open space.
Be involved in assessing needs, planning, and designing all parts of the Trailhead Development.
Ensure any project that requires changes to land use, operations, or funding from Council will seek further approval.
